Weddings!

Congratulations to my long time buddy and closest friend in the Legal Practice on her recent marriage!
I was given the privilege of being one of her bridesmaids on this auspicious occasion and I thank her dearly for that.

Unfortunately I have no photos of my own to share as all the running around and lack of a purse meant no space to hold the camera, not to mention not knowing where I would've put it while the professional guy was directing poses. Still, I'm sure I remember all of us looking simply smashing!

A word on marriages though. In today's society it seems that more and more divorces are happening

So I'm a Lawyer and all and whilst I really would like to venture into something a bit more on the creative side of the professional world Lawyering does pay the bills.

Drowning Islands, advocating through story:
Present and future victims of climate change have a story to tell that the world needs to hear, whether ready to deal with the implications or not. While the legal and political community has started talking about these subjects, the most compelling stories come from those that experience the inconsistency and impact of our changing climate

My essay on my trip to India was unexpectedly published in the magazine YatraYatra is a periodical issued by the High Commission of India, Port of Spain, Trinidad. I had no idea about this magazine, in fact a friend's mother called me up one night all excited about how she had read my "article" in the magazine and loved it.

Quotes

Some quotes I've come across lately that have been helping me deal with some crap. They're pretty cliche but sometime's cliche's good 'cause it sticks.

New Blog-Writer Friend

A  friend of mine just started this blog. It's not on Blogger but on WordPress which is fine because the main thing is that she's finally letting the world see the amazing things that go on inside her head.

Essay for Indian High Commission (so I can get my refund ;)

The KIP group was informed that we had to complete an essay to be turned in to our individual Indian Consulates by the 11th February, 2011 before they would begin the process of refunding the 90% of our airline tickets as promised.

I'm actually very happy :)

Just so you don't think that I'm currently boy silly and depressed from the last post this song has been my anthem since I got back from India. I should've thought about sharing it here earlier :)

..."Sometimes there's airplanes I can't jump out,
sometimes there's bullshit that don't work now,
we've got our stories but please tell me
what there is to complain about"...

When you see how bad it could be you realise how good it really is.

John Mayer - Half Of My Heart

Sometimes I think this is how he feels... but sometimes I think it's not just half of his heart that says no...I need to let go.

-just because this song was playing in my head this morning :)

Essay on Gastroenteritis and My Journey Back Home From India.

Twenty-one days spent in a land of spirituality, beauty, history, adventure and at the same time the exact opposite of all these adjectives and all I find myself doing today as I sit in front of my laptop, dashboard on screen, is bitching to myself about my writing style and my inability to express thoughts as well as my friends in other blogs. I just can't write without preparation sometimes and then when I do it all comes out rather rigid and damn machine-like, conveying only facts free of emotion
